Also, I can’t drag select the text with my mouse unless I first click inside the text field.

Not sure if this it a ScriptUI thing or not, but I cannot use Command-A to select all text in the New Comp Name field.

It’s a quick and easy way for me to select all text, erase it and start typing a new name — all without touching a mouse.

this is awesome! Wondering if your update is coming. I’d really love the batch version – and the ability to rename the comp exactly what the layer name is. So 01-LayerTitle becomes 01-LayerTitle rather than Precomp-1 or whatever.

i think i know what you mean. are you wanting each layer to be precomposed separately, or that the group of layers would be precomposed together? in either case, it might be complex to retain that information. i’ll add it to my to-do list as a possible feature.

is it possible via this script to keep the handles of the source layer that is being precomposed,(the parts that are outwards inpoint and outpoint)
without having to specify the duration for each
and keep these values to apply them on the precomped layer ?

sorry for my english
do you understand what i mean?
it would be very usefull for conforming a premiere or edl timeline.
especially to begin cleanup before the final cut is done,

it would be great to adapt it for scriptsUI too

does your footage layer have a non-100% stretch applied to it? if so, can you send me a sample project with just that layer? (send to redefinery@hotmail.com) no footage is needed.

First of all thanks for a great script. It’s one of my most used scripts now. And I appreciate your work and dedication to your scripts.

Now my question, when I use your script with a footage layer that doesn’t start from the beginning(say the middle of the footage) and select leave all attributes(with or without trim selected), the layer is shifted. Is that the same as the problem you explained with a negatively stretched layer?

If not, is there a workaround to this? Right now I am running it from a Launch Pad Script UI. I’ve also tried running it from File > Scripts > Run Script File. Same thing happens.

hi silvio,

this script displays a modal dialog box, and so shouldn’t be installed in the ScriptUI Panels folder. it doesn’t work as a dockable panel. the first version might’ve mentioned that erroneously, but should’ve been fixed in v0.91.

just run the script by choosing File > Scripts > Run Script File, then selecting the file. hope that helps.
